Exercise Physiology for Back & Neck Pain
Evidence-based exercise programs for chronic back and neck pain from Accredited Exercise Physiologists in Geelong. Medicare, WorkCover, TAC and DVA funding options available.
Chronic back and neck pain is common. It doesn’t have to be your normal.
Persistent back and neck pain affects almost every part of life, from work and sleep through to social activities and your sense of who you are. At Core Health Group, we take a practical, evidence-based approach to helping people move better, hurt less, and get back to the things they enjoy. We work with people at every stage, from recent injury through to long-term chronic pain.
How exercise physiology helps with back and neck pain
The evidence for exercise in managing chronic spinal pain is strong and consistent. Movement improves spinal stability, reduces muscle tension, improves posture, and helps regulate the nervous system’s response to pain. For many people, persistent back or neck pain has as much to do with how the nervous system processes signals as it does with structural damage, and exercise is one of the most effective ways to address both.
We also work closely with the physiotherapists at Pillar Sports Physio, who share our facility, so if you need collaborative care across exercise physiology and physiotherapy we’re set up for it.

A note on funding
Who is this for?
People in Geelong who have been dealing with back or neck pain for more than three months and haven’t found lasting relief through passive treatment alone. This is also for people managing pain following workplace injury, motor vehicle accidents, or surgery, and for anyone who wants a structured, active approach to their recovery rather than ongoing passive treatment..
Medicare CDM plans provide subsidised access for eligible clients. WorkCover and TAC clients can access exercise physiology as part of their injury management, and we work with both regularly. DVA card holders are covered. NDIS may apply where chronic pain significantly affects daily function. Private health extras often include exercise physiology, so it’s worth checking with your insurer.
